The article does not do justice the damage this disease has caused. I have heard it called the plant apocalypse. I work one job near Big Sur where I drive past miles of dead tan-oaks. Nearly the entire forest there is dead or dying. There are countless tan-oak trees that will either be burned or chipped or allowed to rot because the wood is quarantined. I have a large job starting the first of December that is just burning tan-oaks in piles.
