So, I happen to have a blown up xl 400. It looks a lot like SXL. Specs show these saws share the same bore size, but different stroke. SXL parts are easier to find. So I was wondering if anyone has ever tried fitting the SXL crank, rod, cylinder, piston in the xl 400 case. Is the base to center of crank the same height? bearings the same size? Has anyone else ever had this idea?
