I have one and thought it needed P&C[hard to turn over]. Turned out to be the screws behind the flywheel had backed out and were rubbing[common]. Fixed that, runs fine. Just saying in case you have same...
c-l is wheelers and dealers worth a shot good luck
Dang, I have one of these critters in the shop. Supposedly it only runs on 16:1 fuel. I really doubt that, but that's the main reason why I have failed to service it. Supposedly, it kicked butt when it last ran. "Big Blue" establish a whale of a reputation. Is it worth saving? I'm not sure.:confused2:I was hoping that since there are a couple saw enthusiast around here that maybe, just maybe someone would have a parts saw I could barter with.

I wish that was the issue.
One of the previous owners thought these older Homeys are supposed to turn 14k and had her tuned EXTREMELY lean.
I bet she sounded good![]()
In my case, it's worth a rebuild. It's really minty with brand new bar and chain to boot. I have zero invested in the saw. I had an XL-12 at one point and I miss running it from time to time. Nothing to run all day, but they're torquey and have a unique sound that keeps you wanting more. They'll run the same mix as your other OPE.
