So what's the consensus on these? Are they worth buying in order to keep the bottom of your saw in good condition or do they create other issues due to how it mounts? Does it act like a heat sink or damage the handle where it wraps around? I am interested in picking some of these up for my saws in hopes of keeping them in better shape, but I don't want to waste my money if they aren't worth it. What does this gang of misfits say?

The area of the tank that gets chips thrown against it on some saws have a factory overlay plate.
If your guys poke holes in fuel tanks often, then yes, it would protect them better than the plastic bottom.
I'm with @2dogs on heat sink probability.
I have customers for cutoff saws that puncture tanks, but they are scrap yards.

I think it would be good for a pickup saw to keep from wearing holes in the bottom. While boincing around pickup bed

I bought one for my MS260, two for my MS261s and one last for my MS661. Thinking of buying also one for my new MS241. Never had a problem with them. Protects perfectly the bottom of the saw and does not make any difference in the weight.
