With being a new member they just sent me a news release to put in the local papers, does this work or is it gay? Don't know if anyone has tried it and if you think it worked if you did.

You mean you have the money to belong to TCIA? I was a member way back when it was NAA. The dues went through the roof (for me anyway) and the whole org. seemed to morph into something else. I get more way more out of ISA for $125.00 per year.

I got in on the $150 new member deal for first year. Don't have a clue how they do it after that. I want to join the ISA as soon as I get a little more cash. We'll see if the TCIA can net me a few extra jobs? What will the dues do in the next year?

Yea that will balloon up to like 325.00 next year .

I am not sure that I can say being a TCIA member has gotten me any jobs. However, I do consider it worthwhile because they are working to improve the professionalism and safety of the industry and provide a lot of information and assistance. If you have any questions about regluations, etc... they are very helpful.

RE: the press releases...I have never tried, but I would think there is a chance some small town papers would pick them up. I always thought they were kinda lame, but if they went to print I think that would be a good thing so maybe I'll send some in some day - but I would not expect much out of that.

If you think it's not going to work for you, change the wording until it will.

Nothing to lose!

TCIA is great about supporting the ANSI standards and giving them to members. Hint--they get revised every 5 years. :msp_sneaky:
