What is the setting for the Tech Tach - 20K Tachometer for 2 stroke engines ? 180 - 360 - 720 ? It says in the manual if the reading is not correct to change the setting . is there a rule to what the 180 - 360 - 720 setting are for per 2 stroke , 4 stroke and or what ever ? Also what is the different settings for single cylinder and multi-cylinder engines. Is it just me or is the manual very "thin" on how to use the tach ?

There are no "rules" as it depends on the ignition system installed in your engine. You can pretty much ignore the manual for chainsaws - single cylinder 2 stroke - it gets it right every time. The only time you'll have problems is when you put it on a 4 stoke 2 cylinder that fires twice for each rotation (easier to make is way); then just set it to 720 (or is it 180 - I can never remember). My Briggs 16 hp Vanguard and Kawasaki 451 fire twice per rotation...

Thanks for the info Lakeside , i knew somebody here had to of used them and had some info / experence with this model. For an $89. tach one would think the manual would of been a bit more clear on how to use it .
