as stated before the 026 went to 15.400 with open[front off] exhaust.
the emak 962 actually backed off a thousand with front off.. conclusion not a dang thing learned.. but confused.
any way with with mufflers intacked and usin the the tach,, i concentrated on how rpms held in heavy cut. the advice previously given here turned out to be rite..high no load rpm,, dont amount to much... so lesson learned .. got a little better understanding of what to look for now .. well i had fun anyway and mabe did learn a little something. on top o that the saws are mostly as good as i can gettum. a good day. bit confusing ,,but good.later now

no tony,, and u are excused for missin my meaning ,,as its probably a miracle when
somebody does understand my post...
i didnt mean power ,,i meant rpm.
the 026 kicked up to 15.500 with the front of the muffler off. i dont run it that way . it actually happened cause i didnt know the front had fell off. didnt have it on tite..
but after seeing that.. i wanted to see if other saws would go wild with the front plate off... the 962 was just the simplest one to check... its set at 13.000 for cutting . ... with cover off,, it actually slowed the idle speed ,as well as the wot rpm. about 12000.
it surprized me ,,so i thot it was worth posting about it . mabe somebody understands what caused it .. it jus confused me.
so i went on too finding strongest saw setting,,for my other saws by checking them in heavycut....conclusion my ear aint bad at tellin me,, when a saw is rite. nuff said..
