It doesn’t, that won’t be under compression and won’t tell you what the coil is actually producing.Big wide gap on a plug works best. Cut off even with center electrode and weld on an alligator clip.
I guess you didn’t watch the video…Spark Testers have been around for 40 yrs. Plug it into the plug wire, ground clip to engine, and pull the recoil......pretty much Shop Class 9th Grade
