Ya'll Ol Timers forgive me, but I'm maybe favoring the 575 over the 372.
Just left a small outdoor equipment place and had a real good look at the 575, and was impressed.
Nobody round here has 372's anyway.
I guess the biggest feature is the broad power range vs. the 372's narrow power range. No I don't like the weight difference.

He he... I own em' both now. Bought my 575 last May after seeing one and talking to the factory guys at the Oregon Logging show in Eugene. The 575 is far superior a saw to the 372. I still have a couple 372's as backup saws, good saws indeed. The 575 runs cooler, quieter, stronger, and uses much less fuel. I've harvested quite a bit of timber with it and used it on the "School Fire" this year on a few good size pumkin's. The weight is perfectly balanced with a 32" bar. The grips have been enlarged and fit the hands better. My hands go numb with the 372 after a few minutes, the 575 is quite comforable. Only "problem" which is really nothing at all, it takes a little longer to warm up on a cold day.

Interesting thread. It`s not everday that you see two guys on the same continent saying that they like the 575, especially over the 372.

BTW, I hear that there may be a 372 anniversary edition coming.

Would the men that have both saws please tell how the powerband feels between these 2 saws, the 372 and 575.
The salesman are saying the 575 has a broader torque curve than the 372, but the people that have both know for real how it is.

Any details on what's the differance between the aniversary and standard.

Yeah, the anniversary edition will be available when the regular 372s are all gone.

I have both.

The 575 does have a bit more torque and a slightly wider powerband but it`s hardly remarkable in my opinion. Maybe if I had run a long bar on the 575 I`d feel different but the biggest I ran was a 20" in some equal sized hardwoods. Now the 575 is modified so all comparisons to stock are moot.

The 575 is fuel efficient and very smooth to run. It`s also noticeably heavier than the 372 IMO.

If you don`t have to carry it too far it is a nice saw but for the money and weight I`d consider a Dolmar 7900, which I also have. It beats the 575 hands down in nearly every respect except fuel efficiency and anti-vibe which isn`t quite as good as the 575.

I`m sorry to say that I don`t plan to buy another 575.

The 575 is all it's claimed to be. I've used the 372 to "grab" limbs and toss them out of the way by "blipping" the throttle. The 575 is so quick it'll cut the limb if your not paying attention. The power-band is much broader, strong from 5,000 to 12,000 rpms. I've not put it to any scientific tests but I know what the 372's are worth. The 372 is a d'mn good saw. I'd be surprised if they quit making them. I'm mighty happy with my 575. However, I've never been disappointed with the 372.
