The best way to prevent raccoons found!!

Okay, so I live in a neighbourhood where raccoons are a raging problem. One of my neighbours had a family of raccoons live in her shed for a whole summer and she didn't evict them because there were babies (aaww ). Her son also had a raccoon jump on his head. They are vicious, garbage eating creatures.

I've had people tell me to trap them, shoot them (yes they were being serious), or suspend my garbage bin up using bungee cords (too much of a lifestyle change).

Ever since I did what I did 2 months ago, I have never had another 'coon issue since.
I installed De-Fence security spikes on my fence and the raccoons were thwarted. They are spike strips are made of recycled, UV protected polypropylene material. They do not harm the raccoons (or any other pests you may have climbing into your property), just cause discomfort and teach them not to climb the fence.
Well, best decision I've made. It's saved me so much time and grief cleaning up from the raccoon mess. I highly recommend using security spikes from De-Fence if you're going abouts with pest problems in your card.

Yeah we use something similar in the house to keep the cats off of the stairway banisters.....had a cat fall once from the 2nd floor bannister and it was a 400 dollar cat repair bill.....Damn cat mechanics are expensive!

Back when I wuz a wee one, and Davy Crockett was all the rage, there be a shortage of coons !
Everybody wanted an authentic hat -- still recall skinnin' a coon fer the hat ! Too bad nobody told us how to cure skins, some guys hats sure did stink.
'course, that was when nobody thought nuthn' wrong with 10 y olds carryin' a rifle in the woods -- kept the trolls down too!

I live in a very remote mountainous area with critters of all sorts doing all kinds of damage on and around the house.....mainly bears, deer, coons and squirrels.
Got a Border collie and the problem ended almost immediately as this specie is relentless and tireless.....heck, I don't even see many snakes anymore.

Trapping these things isn't always easy. Sometimes it's a single attempt and sometimes it's not. I'm not a trapping expert but I have friend that is 83 and is an avid hunter etc. He knows animals. He had one recently that drove him nuts. I think it took him almost 10 tries before he caught it. Obviously the first five were written off with the usual excuses but it still took 5 tries after he got serious. They have amazing dexterity and are not stupid in that, I think anyway, they learn from past experiences. Having a sprung trap and no animal inside boils his peanuts and he was obsessed about it. It was a lot of fun breaking his balls about it too. [emoji16]
