Got a tip on this saw from a fellow member. Can't thank you enough.
This saw was found on CL. I contacted the seller and he agreed to ship.
It arrived yesterday safe and sound. Not quite as clean as it looked in
the pic's but still a 3100G. Worst part is the broken felling dog lower mount.
Every other part is there with no other cracks or brakes.
I guess i will have to sharpen my Magnesium welding skils. I had to go
through the points, carb, fuel lines and give it a major cleaning. She's a
great runner now. Just have to sink it in some real wood. It came with
a 24 inch hard nose bar so for the photo shoot i put this nice 48 inch
roller on it.

Nice one!!! That gear case would bug me too. I can't wait to see how you fix it. I might have some parts to help. I think I gave you a new dog for it at the GTG.

Thanks guys,
Jp, I have the dog. It came with the saw.
Going to call my welding supplier monday and see
what they recommend for welding this mag case.
It's bugging me big time so it's going to get fixed.

That certainly does look like a beast. Looking forward to seeing how you effect the repairs.

Mark

I am not sure about "effect" but the damage and subsequent repair will have no affect on the saw operation. It is a helllll of a find and a HUGE hats off the to member that tipped you off to it
