This P&C came off a 3120 from a tree service company. I believe it had been run once after the new P&C was installed. The P&C were bought off eBay, to save $100.

i got a piston and cylinder from ebay for my 372XPG and the exact same thing happened after about 20min of running.
i emailed the seller and he sent me another one out the next day. the new one has not had any issues and i have about 15 hours on it.
btw, i love my 372

That exhaust port has a wierd shape and I see a tracing of the port on the piston. Aftermarket and an attempted port job?

I think running quality rings and clips etc with these kits could help improve reliabilty.
That's the extent of the saws history that I know. I don't believe anyone tried to port it. Check out all the flaking lining. Must be a real poor chrome job.

Certainly wouldn't with that coating but alot of cheap kit issues could be prevented with replacement of these minor parts.
That is one ugly cyl.

I used an after market P&C on 1 saw and never will again the quality is not even close to oem. Next customer that wants to go that route will have to bring it to some one else.

I don't know what to call that, like everything is flaking apart.
Id agree with poor coating job.
It's going back together with all OEM parts. New seals, fuel hose/filter, tank vent, air filter, carb kit... $475 in parts. A lot cheaper than a new one.

It happens on OEM Husky cylinder too........Here is one that the cylinder bolts came loose on ........Cracked ....
