I know there is a specail place for these but I couldn't find it. I came across this craigs list add.
There is a picture of a big ass euc, and it says: I have a couple large trees I need trimmed in San Jacinto. Topped . They are top heavy and look like some of the branches may fall so I need it fixed. IF you can do it you can have the firewood and I may pay you something also. You must have your own truck and tools including ropes etc to lower the cut limbs. Call Bob 714-414-946six

I just drove over to the "free tree" I shared on here just to see what it looked like in person. It is a few fee from a garage and a house with two wires running under it. The bark is falling off in huge flakes. I didn't even go up to the house, I just drove away. NOBODY is gonna touch that tree for free. I emailed her a quote to remove it and have not heard anything.

Sure i'll do $2000 worth of work for $200 worth of wood. The stump grind alone costs more than the wood is worth.

Its hit and miss, but for those of us that don't have twenty years in on our own, thats how we can generate more customers. I would go to Cali to take down this guys tree for ....1 million dollars. Plus tax.

They think you can do a job for nuthin. I have been doing free work for people for many years. This year it bit me in the butt because I kept dishing out money to do stuff for people and never got paid. I am almost dead broke now. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE helping people, but there has to be a line.
Now I'm telling them that I can't do it for free because I don't have any more money. Some of them offer to pay and some don't even talk to me anymore.

Well I didn't make it out there as entertaining as that would of been. But at lest he changed his ad to some thing more realistic. I like to think I made a differenceif only in a small way;

I just couldn't bring my self to trust dude. He wanted me to do the work then he would mail me a check. I do that kind of thing alot, but not with Bob.

Here's the ad I run on Craigslist: Don't top your tree. I hardly ever get called, but when I do their gold. I do better on my weed abatement ad.
