I'm not the best at identifying trees, but that looks like Willow. There are websites out there that show leaf and bark pics for tree id. Willow is one of the worst firewood trees available. The wood is full of water, and when it dries, it's not much better than burning balsa wood.

I thought Willow as well. Willow has long, thin, drooping branches that are yellow or yellow-orange in color. On farmland people would plant Willow near damp areas to remove the water and dry the soil.

Looks like willow to me, pretty much garbage as far as firewood goes.

Lot of wood in that tree, I'd burn it!

I've cut and burned willow before, and it's just not worth the effort if you are just doing it for firewood. When it finally dries, it's very light and punky and doesn't make much heat. If somebody gave me some that was already cut and split, sure, I'd burn it then.......

People always say how willow is firewood and it all burns ...well Cardboard burns so does toilet paper or wrapping paper doesn't mean that it makes good long heat for your house though

I know willow is not worth the time, that why I asked before I obligated. Thanks for everyones input.

I've heard that the plains Indians used to burn dried buffalo poop inside their teepees to stay warm in the winter.......

These two trees do not have the typical weeping branches though.

There are around 70 different species of willow tree in the US. The weeping willow is a hybrid and more in the ornamental tree category. One characteristic of willow trees is branching multiple main trunks, and the trees in your pic seem to have that. Here's a link:

Sort of looks likes a black Willow.
