ok some of us may be a bit old school.but here's to the some older methods.

I think that's the same guy that came over to Aust. from the states in the early 1900's when they were logging the Yarra Valley to show our guys what you could do with a leather strap, spurs and an Axe that could take a 4inch branch off in a swipe. The way that axe was swingin round after the top let go was scary stuff, those guys musta had big set of jewels in their day.

By the way that tree was probably a Eucalyptus regnans so he'd have been about 90 foot up before he'd found the first lateral. Great post.:cheers:
