All right, we've had our first frost, and now the "ladybugs" Japanese ladybird beetles or whatever the proper name is for them, are out and again a huge nuisance.

I can live with them, but I had a call from a customer of mine that breaks out from them, and she is wondering is there is some control for them.

I told her I would solicit the help from some fellow arborists!

Well?

Thank you all.

Shop Vac with insect killer sprayed inside the holding tank. We had inches of the buggers at our cabin last fall.

Else try the old soap and water trick, if anything, at least the hornets and wasps will be gone. Though in 2 months, they'll be frozen stiff up here by me!

Tolerance is usually the answer

Good use of the shop vac - hey, pro eng - we are just 30 minutes apart on HWY 23. Talk to you later.

yup the shop vac. when i lived in west VA they were a real problem, but the shop vac sucked em up real nice.

I buy ladybgs all the time to turn loose at customers property for aphid control, I'm pretty sure the first batch I buy in the spring is ones that "overwintered" Find a way to hold them and sell them to the distributors make a little extra money maybe.
