Trying to decide which saw to get. Husky 350/55r/353 I would like to run a 20 inch bar and am cutting wood 2 foot or less. Expect to use the saw hard at times but not as a professional. I like the price of the 350 and the low vibs but I am wondering if it is a little light for a 20 inch bar. Also the 55 comes with a 3/8 pitch chain which I am more familiar with. I would appreciate any insight you folks would be willing to share.

My only advice is to not let the price influence your decision.
Buy the best you can afford. It WILL be worth it in the long run.:)

I have a 350 and it screams. I personally like the 95vp narrow kerf chain too. Cuts real fast! I have an 18" bar on mine, and I do everything from cutting firewood to cutting medium size trees down. I cannot see needing anything bigger for what I do unless I decide to cut some monsters down. Im not sure how it would run with a 20" bar. I havent tried it yet. Jeff Sikkema hooked me up with an 18" GB Pro-top bar for it and I couldnt be happier. Good luck in your choice!

I have a 353 with a 16" bar. Took off the horribly restrictive muffler and replaced it with a Walker $30 non-restrictive muffler. Dremeled off the carb screw limiter stops, adjusted the carb. Saw really screams and keeps up with my Homelite SXL 925 in wood up to 12"-15" or so. Couldn't be happier. The 350 has a plastic crankcase and chain cover and is not a durable as the 353 with is all magnesium and stronger, slightly bigger engine, higher reving. 353 is same as Jons 2152 which is sold as a pro saw.
