Hi Folks, I'm working on my 281/288 project. I noticed the throttle linkage would open the throttle blade PAST wide open, and the blade would start to close again, the blade was at about 7/8 throttle with the trigger pulled all the way. I installed a set screw to stop the throttle at wide open (parallel to the carburetor bore), now the saw will run at true wide open throttle, not 7/8. Just wanted to share what I found.
