Hello all;
My question for the forum is, of the 3 variations of this carb series that was used on models of different displacement values is on the series that came on the 281xp (1988) that has the governed circuit(228A), should it have a main jet?The carb came in a box with the rest of the saw disassembled and when I pulled the small welch plug there was the small screen and below that nothing but a hole into the carb throat , the IPL's that I have access to dont show a jet for this model but it looks like there should be one, so I had an extra b or c series without the governor from a 288 and put it on and the saw and it is very rich when needles are set within the standard starting point of 1&1 and needles are wanting to be set less than 3/4 to 1/2 from seated so I think I am going to lower the metering lever and readjust but back to the a carb, where can I get a main jet for it and are there different sizes and if so which one would I need, Pics of the saw in before condition
