Glen Savage Jr. finally caught again, will he pay $100K in restitutions and walk or spend the two years in jail? He works lands in Southwestern Pa. and West Virginia. He just takes a lot more trees than he has title to or contracts for. www.thepittsburghchannel.com/news/2585653/detail.html The saga goes on, this guy has been at it for years and stopping him has not been easy.

I could not get over the reported news were he tells the judge he only took one load of trees off a 97 acre parcel yet there was film of two loaded trucks, one red and one blue moving timber out. Just how do you load out 500 trees on one truck, one trip, Magic? A warning to anyone that sells timber or coal, count the trucks that come and go every day. Video cameras work well and the money you make should pay for a good one with a power zoom lens.

the sickening part of this story is lack of criminal prosecution. Same here in NC; DA's will not take this seriously, even when given =the evidence on a silver platter.
Likely this guy will pay $0. and serve little time, giving some pitiful medical excuse. Timber rustling is a big deal but the value of trees economically or otherwise is not understood well enough to get rustlers fairly dealt with.

recently on vancouver island there's been a rash of old growth cedars felled for shakes. shakes!!! in the paper there was a photo of one exceptional tree, 1000 year plus, felled and left. just for kicks and a few bucks.

i'm not a violent man, but if i caught him in the act i'd learn him some tree appreciation.

I would not break nothing, but they would have to crawl back tot thier trucks to call for a tow.

I feel the same about the 4 wheelers who go out and "make" trails on public land.
