I was on hooks yesterday for the first time this year. Not much need for them here. This was a tall straight cedar elm. Had to do it. Almost stuck my line and wondered if anyone else has that issue.

If you say my pole spikes you would understand why I don't use them. While I was using them, the phone rang - it was 1972 and it wanted its spikes back.

Brian - getting more fly or what is the decision?? XTC is pretty good. Edelrid arbo line has a good hand but wears too fast IMHO.

I think you'll like the Yellow Jacket. It is a real waxy rope.

I found it ran through crotches better, But it sucked for footlocking. I habd to get rid of it.

Know what ya mean about grip, especially if ya got a big man with big hands, had one named Tiny ('course by me)that was good so ran 5/8 Arbor plus a lot. Hunter's eyes, quick refleses, sense of what's going on, and 300# impacting to set line.

Guess ya answeredd that bfore kinda about crotches, just sinking in, was looking that way.

Thanx

I'll second JPS about you probably liking the Yellowjacket. I like mine , but have never tried anything that I like better than Safety Blue.
