Hey guys..I know I said this last yr..but here we go again..

I'm hanging up my saddle and spurs..and putting the horses out to pasture(so to speak)

I have decided to give up my business and move on to another profession..law enforcement..once my degree is completed in Dec..I've decided to move on to other endevours..

If anyone is interested..my bucket truck is for sale as is some rigging gear and maybe one or 2 of my saws..
Just drop me a private message

Good luck and god bless to those who do it every day..
Stay safe out there..

Travis

I am sure you will still do some work on the sides just dump the big equipment and keep the rigging, saws, and what not. Be the guy that shows up on the weekend at your buddies house wrecks the tree and they do all the clean up. Stay safe!

My accountant does the books for several cops that run side businesses (scuba diving for snowmobiles/outboards, etc) for the tax write offs.
keeping your tree biz going might be in your best interests even if it only involves a day here or there.
It is something you may want to run by your bookeeper/accountant.

Keep your personal gear and the Biz, and just sell off the bigger stuff that has the overhead monster attached to it.

There will be a time lag between academy and getting hired unless you already have hitched on somewhere, and even then probationary pay can suck for a while.

Then there's the write offs and advantages of having the Biz on the side.
Every Cop I know has a gig on the side or farms, to have something to fall back on, or retire to.
Just something to chew on before going all in.;)

Good luck Devil dog!

Stay safe!

Don't sell the biz, law enforcement might not end up panning out like you hope, but I hope it does for you. Hey, you could always go about busting hacks for the rest of us.

I can see it now....

"Freeeeze! Put down the echo and slowly back away......keep your beers were I can see them."

"Did you just top that beautiful tree?" brings the hammer back.... "Well, did ya?"

u got Devil Dogged! I would say the same thing, hold on to ur stuff, just in case. Buddy got out at Quantico, became deputy in Richmond, Va. Graduated in the top of his class, worked for 6 months, quit, hated it. He is going to school now........again. But if ya love it, you will probably be able to work all the overtime ya want, and I wouldn't see you wanting to climb if you can put bad guys in jail!
Best of luck.
