Hey how are you folks?
Me again with probably another long winded question....

A friend wants to give me this saw for $100. A little poking around tells me certain parts are hard to find but he said the previous owner who bought it new had run it for him to show it ran ok. Then my friend used it once and decided it was too big for his needs so he had it laying on a shelf for three years and now it doesnt run. Im thinking carb clean just basic runthrough and it should start again.

But how much are these worth? What are the chances of me selling it? I have too many saws i use daily already and this one is just too big for my needs.
The badge says 045 av SUPER.

i cant seem to find a definite price anywhere online. So I thought i would come to the gurus corner of the internet and ask! Many thanks in advance! Have a good one.

That's a reassuring tip :) I might just go for it. I could use it for a while but my problem is that i must move out soon so i have to offload things i dont need so much. I am actually trading a cheapy stick welder i bought ages ago for about $90. Figured if i could get it running then pass it on to someone who will cherish it and use it and make a few bucks then its a win all round! I will check it sparks and give it a whirl. Who knows i might like it and keep it! looks like a big mean saw to me. 87cc that's bigger than a freakin moped!

I use to sell them on ebay in the 500 range. Sold the last ported one for $650 and I have another I will be doing the same with. Local sale maybe $400 at best if its nice and is ready to cut wood.

I sold one three years ago for $400. The buyer was bi-polar and straight gassed it. I felt sorry for him and bought it back for $300. Then I sold it to a guy in Australia as is. He rebuilt it and wrote me a letter this past summer. He says it's a great saw and uses it to clear tree lines between fields.

You either love an 045 or you hate it. Just MHO.

I personally think that they’re a blast to run! I had my 045 set up with a 3/8 semi-skip chisel chain on 36 inch bar and in 24-30 inch pine I didn’t even have to feed the saw into the log, I’d just squeeze the trigger and let the weight of the saw do the work.
