Hey fellars, I have a Jonsered 2094 and I was wandering if it would be wise to install a decompression button on it. There is a place for a machinist to tap it and install. What bothers me is the man that sold it to me in 1990 told me I would burn it up if I did. He talked about it possibly not sealing correctly. He also said decompression buttons a bad thing that got put on saws and he does not use them. Thanks for any advice

Well he is basically wrong about decomp valves, but if you can start it without then given that you would have to take of the jug to do it I wouldn't bother.

I put a decomp on my 111cc 076 but I never use it.
