I have a timberjack from Northern and it comes in handy, but its much better if one person can use the timber jack and one person can saw. If not your constantly sitting the saw down and adjusting the log. If the log isnt big enough its hard to get the spike to dig in to lift it up. I find that its a little small to serve as a cant hook, as you need a longer handle to get more leverage.
the one rob pictured is their small one.mine is approximately
half again bigger. but like isaid its about as much trouble as its worth. now if i was bucking up a lot of 12- 20 inch stuff it would be pretty useful. by the way i had to take a grinder to the hook
so it would grab and hold rite.good luck tm
