I've been having to get the stove running as it's been a bit chilly. Burning a lot of junky stuff, that takes some fussing with to get going correctly. Good to get rid of it now, and save the quality wood for the winter.
Put a piece it, that was sappy, and BOOM!!! The stove was raging. So hot the air inlet was blowing in flames, like multiple streams of flame throwers. I turned down the damper and got control of it, but wow. This log was really burning hot. The stove was creaking and the pipe was making all kinds of cracking noises. I figure the stove and pipe is now very clean.
