You guys have ruined me...I used to only buy the saws I needed for work, which is still probably more than some of you have in your collection, but usually I only kept the bare minimum...I had to go out and pick up a case of bar oil today, and ended up leaving the place with a new 441....I have more saws in that size than I care to count, but since it's a new item,I couldn't help myself...I think I'll just make it my personal firewood saw and keep using all of the new 440's I stocked up on at work.:chainsaw:

Give us a good review.

I for one love mine, but someone with untold hours on other saws in the class has an invaluable opinion.

I've gotta go out tomorrow and work up a weeks worth of firewood, plus I will probably have a couple of woodpiles burning at my dumpsite...Best place in the world to try out a new saw....And no,it didn't make me forget the bar oil(we couldn't work without that),I needed a new saw like I needed a broken leg...Oh well,it will give me something to look forward this weekend.

I don't know,I didn't think I'd like the 575,but I did..This thing kinda looks like a scalpel sitting next to the 575,but on the other hand,it looks imposing sitting next to the 440....The 044/440 is absolutely my favorite saw that was ever built....I'll give this thing a chance

Ha ha ha, I like your style! Let us know what you think about those saws. I went to the dealer yesterday (for bar oil) and looked at the 441, 575 and 372. I like the 372 for feel and price and might get one of this batch they just got in. The fella working that day really liked the 575. The last guy I talked to (Stihl guy) liked the 441 but was of the opinion "for the price and weight you might consider the 460." I bet the saw I buy will come down to who's working the day I have the money in my pocket- they are all great saws. Let us know what your thoughts are on them, I like hearing opinions and thoughts, specs I can get online. Thanks!
Brad

You've really come to the wrong place if you want sympathy.

Now empathy on the other hand...

I don't know if he's told anyone or not,but he recently was sidelined from racing dirtbikes after a 15 year long stint racing semi-professionally due to knee problems....So he's really gotten into playing with chainsaws....He's talking about converting his KTM250SX race bike into a chain saw.

Gasp! Hack up a perfectly good KTM - no way! Get one of those other guys bikes to build a saw out of - Even Mr. 500 himself rides a KTM and builds Honda Hotsaws...that should tell ya something!

I pack the front tire on a '03 300MXC

I don't know a whole lot about bikes, but I do know that that KTM was his least favorites of all the bikes he rode.He has a deal to race Yamaha's if the doc clears him to race next season.

Oh yeah,,, Its all our fault!!!!!!

I'm runnin' a 20 inch bar on that 441,and that is what I am using on the 440's as well....It feels like the 441 may have a touch more torque, but other than than it seems to mirror the performance of the 440,but with a extra pound or two...It does operate quieter and seems to vibrate less..Not a bad saw,I'll keep it.Like I said I'll use it for my personal firewood saw til' I've worn out all of the 440's that I've stocked up on,then this will probably be my choice to proceed the 440,but then,I'm not sold out on the 575 either..It's been a great saw so far and comfortable to run as well.

:ices_rofl: I was alread on the NEXT project!  He's toast!!!

Hmmmm...I guess then I would have to tear the motor out of my 68 Camaro dragster....502 cubic inches,800 horses...Stage 2 NOS....It pulls between a five second flat and a five fifty down a 1/8 mile...I wonder If maybe I were to run a saw, hydraulically off of that motor, how fast it would tear through a 36 inch red-oak log...Hmmm,might be worth trying
