Thourgh i think might be too late to sign up for the test.

Registration for the CA test requires 12 working days....
I'd like to make the conference, but will only be getting back to philly on 2/11....
Though to tell the truth ther are only a few things on the list that I find interesting..
I'll be presenting at the 80th ISA Symposium in Pittsburg this August...
At my wife's urging I put in proposals for three different presentations.. they took me up on "tricks of the trade"... This is designed for the guy who's got sawdust in his pocket at the end of the day...
More details on that later

Way to go, Mrs. Murph! ISA wants and needs more input from the field. There will be another talk in Pittsburgh ISA on Monday to a combined Utility/Commerical audience that is also for the sawdust-pocket crowd. I'll be spewing stuff there about heading cuts and other heresy. If it was up to me I'd chuck the powerpoint and get out where the trees are, but it wouldn't work with such a big audience.:9

It will work in Richmond feb 12 though; we're expecting ~70 folks. The 75 minutes will include climbing-and-cutting demo of restoration pruning--just found 2 trees there Saturday that will illustrate how heading cuts are sometimes better. Also girdling roots, deep planting, the kind of stuff you see everywhere:rolleyes:; I can't pass up the chance to demo that as a followup to Bonnie's talk on planting.

Come on over if you're in the area; Ginter's a cool place. I can't speak for the other presentations but mine will have you either agreeing with a new way of :Eye: at natural targets or getting really disgusted with me for even talking about good stubs. It'll be different, that's for sure.;)

Usual attendance for this symposium is 70-75; signups as of Friday were 104 . Goodgolly where are they all coming from?
Maybe Isabel put trees in the minds of folks near Richmond VA.

Still, there's room in the room and in the outdoors for the demo. Forecast is for 40's and clearing, nice weather to visit a garden in.:blob2:

Is this pre-registration only?
I will probably go if I can sign up on site. Any of the classes have a limit?

No it's a big room--all general session, no breakouts. The outdoor walk will have Dr. Appleton bringing up the rear as I'll not be dwelling on the root/planting issues but she can for those who want to go deeper into planting:jester:  boy Ireally crack myself up sometimes.

Snow Ho Ho!

Forecast is for wet snow, ending about the time I'm supposed to do a climbing/pruning demo. Funfunfun. :blob2:
Symposium is still on; backup plan if too nasty outside is a slide show on Champion Trees in the USA. Hope to see ya there!

Guy,
If its any indication the tree service section of the Newport News yellow pages went from a little over 3 pages last year to almost 9 pages this year.... I got stuck on pg 8.... live and learn

Learn what? Change to "Aardvark Tree Service--We'll lick the termites out of your trees"??
Do the NN YP's shave an arborist section?

So if you get the YP to start that section (which they should be happy to do), then you'll have an exclusive!:D
