Yea tree Id is like a hobby of mine ! Plus I worked in a nursery for along time and my brother is still a nurseryman , so I am still pretty up on new varieties and ####

Nice call, on that "new variety"Anyway, aspens are everywhere and range from canada to mexico. They typically grow in groves. One time I took out three out of 7 aspens trees. The next day the stump grinder dude painted the remaing roots/stump with round up. The rest of them (4) all died within a month. They have interconnecting roots, was a costly mistake fo sure.

Well thats a relief, took me 400 plus posts to get rid of yer clingy azz. If you climb trees you don't want to trust aspens, very brittle wood.Plus they spread like bamboo, with very similar root systems.
Always suprises me when guys with all the gear and years of experience are able to sell work with little to no tree id. On the occasion i'm stumped on a tree i.d. ,I feel pretty stupid. Hard to convince people you know your **** when you write up"prune tree in south corner- $875.00" Not pushing the c.a argument but at least we can i.d the basics. Typically most of my customers get 3 to 4 bids. If I write up remove weedy poplar or "prune tree " that doesn't seem to seal the deal very often, just sayin.

Good thing to mention, We pruned some storm damage out of some silver poplars (very similar to OP tree) a few months ago. Talking to a neighbor, the city made her remove a few along her front yard as the roots were destroying the sewer system. Not many people planting them here in the midwest or eastcoast.
