I hate elm as much as sycamore. Burns well but is a pain to split

I love elm and we rarely get any of it up here. It’s the ultimate fire pit wood as it has a nice low flame and burns completely so you don’t load up on coals.

Elm is better allowed to dry some before splitting.

We don't get much Elm around here but this Spring I and a neighbor have gotten a decent amount of it from the local compost site, we'll see how we like it next year! It took us awhile to ID it but then we realized that is because we don't get it much lol!
