As my search goes on for tools to make my life easier,I have found out that Ive got four great saws that run great ,and lots of stuff for them, but i go out to prune and trim all my yard trees with a bow saw and a clipper.Whats a good saw to do this work in everybodys humble opinion?I am looking for the smallest bar I can get{12''?}and would like something that the known makers manufacture. This saw will be used more that my others, except when I start cutting up my log length.I looked at the Stihl 009,thought it was in line with my needs. This will be used for 4''or less stuff .

I carry a Silky Zubat for the small stuff.
It cuts like no hardware store saw you ever used, and but the time it would take you to start a chainsaw, the limb will be on the ground.
If you really need a chainsaw, the little Echo 3400 or 3450 is a nice saw at a good price. Echo is typically bbetter than the homeowner saws like Poulan or Mac's but more affordable than pro saws. They are a nice inbetween tool.
Even though the 009 says Stihl on it, it's really a homeowner grade tool.

The old hardware store saws can be sharpened, but I don't know of anyone who sharpens silky saws. The two things that come to mind are the high carbon steel, which is really hard, and the multiple angles on each tooth, both make them hard to sharpen.
I did have one guy that claimed he could sharpen one, and all he did was take it to one of those table belt sanders. He just put the angles he knew from the old style saws on it. It cut, well, like the old saws, not so fast.
The saving grace about these saws is they last a long time. They are like $35 though, so take care of them.

P.S. BlueRidgeMark, my copyright lawyer will be contacting you.

another vote for silky saws. it's light and cuts fast.

use it for most all cuts climbing except for larger cuts. then 335 xpt comes out.
