got a job where we have to do a tree risk assassment
for 10 mature trees on a site where constructions will
start soon.
We are trying to preper to this assasement.
would you recomend any good materials ??
specialy - we are looking for premade formulas
avaiable on-line for a public use - with a hazard
scale and it's descriptions. I couldn't find any
myself.
I appreciate any help.
Greetings
Marcin

Hi Marcin,

Attached is an article from last October's Arborist News magazine. If you want to know how to use it in your job just let me know. Premade formulas are hard to come by and not very dependable. The next four issues will also be on risk assessment--a very hot topic.

Here is a link too: http://www.treesaregood.com/treecare/avoiding_construction.aspx

If you want to post pictures here you may get some more help.

Hi, Marcin, great to hear from other Polish guy. There are books:
"The Principles of Tree Hazard Assessment and Management" and "The Body Language of Trees: A Handook for Failure Analysis" available on amazon.co.uk. I think that guys from MTUiOD in Kluczbork should be of some help to you ([email protected]). The best way I know of is "pull test", they were conducted some time ago in Krakow (poplars at Politechnika) by prof.Siewniak. You also mentioned that they want you to assess trees PRIOR to construction on site. Remember, that condition of trees may (most likely will) change dramatically because of construction. And if you are not a member of ISA, become one. Good luck, Adam
