Anybody out there gone through the ISA treeworker certification test? I'm taking it next sat. in Fort collins. Looks pretty straight forward. I'm a certified Arb, so I would hope that the written part would just be review, what about the practical? Whats it like?

You're right, the written is a junior version of the CA test.

The practical is kind of tough though. You have to throw your rope into a tree, no throwlines. You also have to body thrust using a Tautline. Most climbers have to search their archived memory to remember how to tie a Tautline :)

You'll do just fine.

Boy, that sounds rough!
So MB, if that's true,
then you're going to do
it too?
td left out a detail or two.

Co, Let us know how it goes! I'm going to take it in september. Never too old to try sumthin new, right MB? ;)

The time I took the test was in 1991 and it was an oral test with an evaluation of tree climbing skills. AllI can say is when you start your rescue test, the first thing you better do is to yell out loud- "call 911". I saw a many guys go home because they did not say call 911.

Hey are they still having that test? On the ISA website it says no exams scheduled at this time, and before it said May, 7. Just curious!
