I'm having problems getting the flywheel off my Wisconsin W4-1770 (35 hp on my 630B Vermeer). I got the nut holding the flywheel loose, but the flywheel won't budge. The Wisconsin manual calls for loosing the nut to make it flush with the crankshaft and then striking the nut with a "babbitt hammer." It doesn't call for using a hard hammer, because you can damage the crankshaft and bearings. I'm using a hard rubber mallet and I can't budge the flywheel one bit. I've poured on the break free oil to help, but still not getting the flywheel to come off any all. Any suggestions?

I usually take off starter and use large bar and hit back of flywheel, turn over a quarter turn and hit again, keep turning engine over quarter turn at a time. Should pop right off. When putting back make sure to use never-seeze Good Luck
