I have an Asplundh boom, model LB2-42. I was using it this morning on a job, worked great. Went to the next job 5 min. away and nothing. Boom controls, mast controls, nothing works. The outriggers work fine, but when i switch power from the outriggers to the boom, i have nothing. We cracked the lines at the back of the truck and the mast controls and seem to have pressure. I've never had any probs. with it before. Any advice would be great.

Sounds like an electrical problem. Any microswitches on the outriggers? If the switches on the riggers fail the boom will not move. They might have some debris caught in them. Good luck.

I'm starting to lean towards an electical prob., but the wiring on this thing is a night mare. It does have switches on the outriggers, i'll see what i can dig up. Thanks.
Tomtrees, i double checked that all the contols are wear they are supose to be.

Just to give you guys the heads-up, i finally got it working again. On each of the out-rigger tubes, there is a valve (with a small wheel sticking thru the out-rigger tube) that diverts hyd. pressure away from the boom when the riggers are in the "up" position. Basicly making it so you can't use the boom while the riggers are up. Well one of the wheels was stuck up, thus diverting the hyd. fluid. Live and learn i guess. Thanks all for the help.

Common problem, the switch engage the 'deadman' and stop all movement of the boom. Glad you got it running.

What had me confused was that there are switches on each of the riggers. So the whole time i was trying to find an electrical prob. when it was accually a Hyd. prob. After talking to people they said the same thing that it's a comman prob.
