Hi, new poster here (from Down Under),
Got this Stihl with 20"bar 3/8 .063 full chisel.
3 bolt starter, full metal chassis, no chain brake, "made in West Germany" stamped on clutch cover. Measured 49mm piston bore (with stick thru exhaust port) and it has a muff mod.

Goes great, but I need to know what model. Looks like a 028, serial #7644003.

Thx for the info.
so 038 AV it is then.
Spare chain, air filter and sprocket will see me right. Oh and learning how to file properly :)

J, welcome to the site. If you go to Forums, and scroll down to "Chainsaw", you will get more detailed info, and find a bunch of guys that can probably hook you up with any and all parts you may need. If you hang out here too long we will have you putting a 72 inch bar on that little saw and trying to mill some of those great Aussie hard woods. Then you'll be looking for an old 090 to pull that 72 inch bar. We have several members from Down Under that bring a lot of help to the forum. Cheers from Maryland, Joe.
