It seems this part is no longer available from Stihl. Does anyone have one?

Thin strip of Teflon tape and go forth.Alex said any HS tilly screw should work. I pulled one off a Husky 260A carb I have for a 272 and it works. I fear it will just vibrate out like the last one, however...not very tight. Locktite, maybe?
Ah, that explains the second hole next to the idle screw hole. Exactly as pictured there.
Kinda need that carb for a frankinsaw…61 to 272 .If that ball is missing the screw will back out. Loctite isn’t ideal because it’s kind of a one time use deal. Make sure that ball is there, if not snag the one out of that HS260 carb.
I've worked on several over the years. A really weird carb setup. Even the chicon knockoffs are over $40.00. HUTLZ shows a replacement for OEM at $76. Good luck. OTSo, Tillotson’s site really sucks. I vaguely remember someone posting older ipls for carbs but I’m not finding them.
carb is a hs-314 tilly
but, it seems there are other tillotson carbs that used the same idle screw setup…screw and ball. I’m coming up empty for parts so any help would be appreciated.
I may just order a chicom clone carb and pull the needed parts.
That ball is for the choke detent, isn't it?
No, it’s a tiny plastic ball for retaining the idle screw. That ball is for the choke detent, isn't it?
Plastic or soft metal of some sort? The one in my 260 carb looks like metal. No, it’s a tiny plastic ball for retaining the idle screw.
Several I’ve seen so far have been grey plastic. Most likely nylon. HS234, 254, 260, and others that use the integrated idle speed adjustment screw have them.Plastic or soft metal of some sort? The one in my 260 carb looks like metal.
I wonder if a piece of solid 12 or 14g would work. The ones I’ve seen are nylon. Even they wear out. I have one saw where I slipped several strands of copper wire straight down in there before adding the idle adj screw. It tightened up and has remained in place.
