Tulip Poplar rot

So……..how big of an issue is this rot (pics attached) Tree is approximately 80-100’ It’s been like this for 6 years. I dug out the punky, spongy wood last month and found solid heartwood. Not sure if it needs to come down, if I can “fix” this, or if it even needs attention. Thank you for your input and time

In my opinion it's an accident waiting to happen, I don't know poplar to be a very strong wood to begin with, add in the rot and age of the tree, I've had several poplars on my property I took down for similar reasons.
