First.. the turner twist works fine without the fixie.... Though I've never used it, Big Jon and I were playing around today and he showed me system without the fixie...
Second... Jon did turn me on to using the seperate biners... The top biner holds the hitch and puley.... while the bottom one holds the eye and clips to saddle... Keeping the hitch on a seperate biner keeps it out of the way when unclipping/reclipping to the saddle or moving the eye to a new TIP, etc... Having the belly down on the bottom biner makes it a lot easier to handle...
So the two biners are highly recommended... Try it you'll like it!!!!!
Big Jon has been a great associate... he's helped me move quickly through the learning curve of progrssive climbing techniques (THANKS JOHN). I think Roachy has showed John a lot of this stuff... We're all just ripples in the pond.
John has further tweeked the set up since that last pic was taken.. He no longer uses the captive eye biner... I really loved my old small captive eye biner... It was real easy to handle.... That went through the chipper and its remains have gone to Tom D.'s collection
