I know I'm getting Butch excited here. Anyone else out there haveing a problem with there High V twisting on them and not being able to work it out? More than usual?

I haven't noticed it so much, John. I've used Safety Blue for years now, and I even have one coming to me right now so I can retire my Fly.
But, for me, no twisting problems.

Overheard Rocky telling about preventing twists. I tried it, it worked. It meant changing the VT as to alternating which one goes over and under first and second. Anyway that is what I did and have had no more twists.

Of course I don't climb 200 feet with one hand and a toe and then decend at warp speed like competetion guys like ya.:D

Jack:cool:

BTW: I still had original twists even after changing the hitch, until I did a fast decent through the twisted stuff.

It seemed to take it out reverse it.

This one is a 250' climbing line. I thought it was that is was new and so long until someone asked me if I was haveing any problems with high v. I don't have this problem with any other rope. We were thinking it was just a bad batch.

Long raps with a VT I do. You need to tend the rope more then with a blakes.

I'll retrieve the rope so that I pull the whole thing through the tree to clear any twisting.

I recently bought 150' of safety blue and it twisting up on me, big time. I've used safety blue for 5 years and never had a rope that twisted like this. When descending on it, I have to stop and on twist it, what's going on with it?

Rocky, I use a VT, and I have switched the legs on the braids several times since getting the rope. I think Big John might be on to something on a batch of bad rope.

Just ordered mine, and a mess of other stuff, and I forgot to buy the tree boat.

Butch, If I ask real nicely, would you please delete that picture of the kid with the Millers, it is really starting to annoy me every time I see it .

We had a hank of New England safety blue here and since neither end of the rope was spliced, the core and the sheath came apart and the sheath started milking down the core. Told boss man and he's supposed to get new ropes for everyone with a bad one, but I doubt if that is gonna happen anytime soon. We've been cutting feet off the end of the rope at a time...scary stuff.

Thats what we've been doing, but it keeps milking out. Safety guy called the company and said that sometimes the core shrinks, so we're thinking that must be whats happening. Either way it sucks when you get to the end of your day coming out of a tree and you realize you're climbing on no core.
