IMG_2549.JPG IMG_2552.JPG IMG_2553.JPG I use what's called a coot to pull my log arch through the woods. Not to many people know what the hell a coot even is. Well mine is 4 wheel steer and has worm gear drive axles, so it turns really really hard, until now! I just finished my electric power steering conversion and all I can say is wow! I can't wait to get back the woods and try it out!! It's an electric power steering unit out of a Saturn vue and some other parts. Unbelievable how good it works!!

I remember them from way back when I was a kid reading & dreaming in Popular Mechanics or Mechanics illustrated. Another one I liked was called a "pug".

What was the original use? Where they just another option to an ATV. They look pretty fun.

Ya they were just an atv anybody could buy. They are pretty much unstoppable and very hard working little machines. Here's what mine is used for.

There were no ATV's back then:D this was as close as you got. Back then, what there were for "atv's" were all work, no play. Found another "Coot" pic while looking for the "Pug" pic on the right.
