I don't want that truck. But if I bought it for resale I would hate to put more than about $7,500.00 in that truck.

Thats just what there getting out of them up here. Schmidy has them in treetrader for 20-22 after he throws his cheap white paint on them and he doesn't negotiate from what I'm told.

What kind of transmission? That for me is always the killer, unable to really tell what shape it's in and usually very expensive to fix. IF the tranny is ok and the brakes are ok, pintle hook with electric to the rear and will pass inspection, 7-8K seems about right. At least thats what I would be comfortable with. Its 18 years old, you'll need to put some paint into it and lettering, there WILL be some repairs at the beginning and at that price, it should be able to bring in enough money fairly quick to cover expenses right away. After that, put money aside to upgrade as soon as you can. The longer you hold onto it, the older it gets and the less its worth to the next guy. Except one, my current pickup, I've always bought used, everything. Been through it many times so I feel like a well wore pro at being picky. Good luck.

Oh, and also, MAKE SURE OF THE MOUNTS FOR THAT BOOM!!!! You never really know what kind of stresses sent that thing to the boneyard. Be careful and picky, its your life.

Are you saying the truck is only worth 7-8k? I'll tell you guys, if you can buy those all day long at that price then you guys need to get into the forestry equipment sales. I've been to many utility auctions and they ALWAYS atleast go for 12 and thats with some serious dents in the chip box and the fender flares busted (always common on these trucks, they didnt build the brush guards far enough out). I agree, make sure you check the pins.

Old Asplundh trucks? I was at an auction just this past spring saw a 1995 366 gas best I remember 140,000 or so miles go for $7,600.00. They had two 1996's same set up 125,000+ miles one pretty clean sold for $8,500.00 one a little rougher(guy that rode up there with me bought it) brought $8,100.00. That truck went on Ebay with a $12,000.00 min. no buyer. He sold it just last month to a Mexican from Jacksonville, Texas for $9,500.00.

Gas motorsd aren't worth cr@p. Been there with a dump truck. Junk all the way. No power. Good for light loads with chips and a light trailer but not heavy duty.

What about net weight anyone have one that knows empty weight?
Have him down to 9000 wont budge.

That truck is worth 10K

I bought a 1996 GMC topkick diesel , bucket/chipper with the High ranger , PERFECT SHAPE , 54k miles ................ off a repo lot for 14k!!!!!!!!

It still had a tree in the chipper box!

Looks great with the new paint and signs. Isn't that truck too heavy for a non-CDL? Or do most people on here have their CDL?

That is not new paint. That is buffed up Asplundh orange. Who in their right mind would want to paint their truck Asplundh colors?

Wow that cleaned up real nice  There is always 2 or 3 Asplundh trucks on ebay every time I look. Whats the reach on the bucket? Well fitted loving the fact that the boom doesn't overhang in the back.

Where the hell are you guys pickin up buckets like that in 7k -10k range?
