What is the top reason for trees in utility lines?

Improper tree selection would have been my vote but had to do
homeowner. Having cleared them for 23 years and knowing why some
look bad it boils down to wrong tree wrong spot. If large trees were planted
say 25 feet back off the lines then 10 foot clearance would look lots better.
I have preached this for many years but we still have ugly trees in row's
and it is not the line clearance guy's fault.
 
Ideal right of way in urban setting would be fast growers 35 feet
from centerline with intermediate 25 and nothing but low growers
in close proximity little maintenance is needed in this setup and
the superlight trimming would be barely noticed!
 
Line clearance guys fault, bunch of uneducated hacks. They should let the trees grow between the phases, anyone can do utility work, power is no big deal.

well they let you do it clearance. so there may be some 2+2=5 issues lol. but most times they are just working with what theyve got. ive noticed theyre getting a lil better here lately tho
