Just curious to see if anyone has been billed by mistake by any vendors and if this is more or less common than I think.

i had one miss something; never did like how they were on some things. So i went in and said instead that they shorted me. They said all sales were final; etc. {like sign said}

i did ask them if they were sure once more, before i left.....

Fair, is fair!

Had a parts order for a stump machine come 1k over what the salesman quoted on the phone. Was just a typo by the billing dept and they corrected after a phone call. I usually put any large purchases on a credit card just in case there is a problem, I can stop the payment.

I have used Baileys, Bishop, Sherrill, and Fresco.

All have been great about dealing with any problems. Never had fresco send a complete order but I have only ordered there twice. In their defense, they have ALWAYS made good on it.

Sherrill is a customer service champ;)

Unfortunately their alliance w/vermeer is a bit confusing.:confused:

I recently cut down 5 live oaks for a deleloper that was clearing some property for a 7-11 store. It was agreed that I would fell the trees-abut 18 inches in diameter each, remove all of the branches & limbs, cut up the trunks in 6 foot lengths & he would deliver the trunk pieces to me for my firewood business at a cost of $200.00 & then take care of the rest of the disposal. My fee was $850.00 less the $200.00 delivery charge. I completed the job, invoiced him & he sent me a check for $1,850.00!.. I almost did nothing but go to the bank & cash the check but my better side got the best of me so I went to their office with my copy of my invoice & the check they sent me for $1,850. I was dirty as usual after working all day, but not too bad & the receptionist at the desk was cordial to me & called their accountant/bookeeper person. The guy--"I use this term lightly" came out & wanted to know what the problem was, I told him & he left for a minute, came back & told me that their check was correct & that I should leave accounting functions to professionals & he was surprised that I could count that high!--I almost said something but I was composed--I then went straight to the bank & cashed the check!----Last month I got a call from them stating that there had been a mistake made & that they shorted me $200.00 on my check--I almost laughed at them but I was composed enough to tell them that I wanted them to take the money & give it to a charity like the national Diabetes Association--my wife is a Diabetic--and they thanked me & told me that they enjoyed doing business with such a caring individual--GO FIGURE!!!!!!! :confused:

Always give them a chance to catch their error.  If you get to a person who has the authority to give money away (usually not a cashier at the counter) and they still insist on doing it, don't argue with them.  You did right, Bill.  Congrats.

Best ever i got away with was, buying rope harness flip line x 2 bashlins x 2, lowering kit and a few other goodies bill should of been near a grand,.............and never got invoiced ..... spoke to the rep for the company and he said they had made a load of people redundant so i guess my bill got lost :)

this dont amount to much. but the place i buy my dog food (the kind i buy you buy 10 bags 11th is free) well a few months ago they changed from bringing in the reciecpt and proof of purchase to computer so you no longer need to save that stuff. so now every 10th bag is free becuase every time i get the free bag thats the one they start counting on even though i've told them about it there like dont worry so i dont.
