Does anyone know of any way to speed this machine up,it seems to be running slower then normal, all the belts seem tight and everything else seems in check, there are about 500 hrs on it.

Are the teeth worn out? With the low horsepower machines dull teeth really slow them down. Do you clean off the air filter reqularly?

...Have a look at the belt that turns the cutting disk! Kinda looks like a timing belt with teeth. If the teeth are worn, the belt will slip and not drive the cutting disk and make the machine seem like it has no power once it makes contact with the stump. My .02 *HC

thanks for the input, the teeth are fairly new annd the filter is cleaned quite often,I will change the belt as it has never been changed

the first thing to drain power is the 2 belts up the top the best $10 youll spend is replacing them, fanbelt type belts.

By speed up the machine are you refering to ground speed, cutting speed or cutting head swing speed? Does this machine have the auto sweep feature? If so near the computor under the tilt out lid covering the battery & tool box you will find a spade type fuse. Remove the fuse and it will disable the auto sweep and speed up your swing speed. If you are wanting to speed up all of the hydraulics (Swing speed, Ground speed & up and down speed ) replace the pulley on the hydraulic pump with a pully about a 1/2" smaller diameter. This may require a belt change. Hope this helps.
