ive got a older 625 1996 or so, i just picked it up so but it doesnt seem to want to pull the branches through, some branches go through fine but the others the feed wheel just spins over top of the branch rather then pulling it through. It has newly sharpened knives, and the bed plate is new. when you put pressure down on the feed roller by standing ontop of the chipper ( just to see if it would do any better) it worked much better, im thinking the springs might be worn out??? i dont think the sharpness off the feed wheel is really a issue or could it be?

The feed wheel springs might need adjusting or replacing. I would also check the splines on the feed rollers and make sure that they aren't worn. It doesn't sound like a hydraulic issue because they're turning. Keeping a sharp edge on the knives of a disc chipper are important as they do help pull in the material as well.

Hope this helps.
