Auto-Feed Tach
I would contact Vermeer and ask for a manual. Here in the US they will mail you one for free. They might be able to email you one. Most auto-feeds are a 4 or 5 wire system. Since this is a 6" chipper, you won't have the reversing feature and it should be a 4 wire system. The 4 wires are as follows:
-Ground
-+12 Volts (positive)
-RPM Input (On larger chippers they run off the alternator or a speed sensor that's mounted in the bell housing of the clutch that reads the flywheel. Not sure on the smaller units.)
-On/Off Solenoid (There is a round coil on the side of the in-feed or on top of the chipper that has a hydraulic cartridge in it. Once you locate this, follow the wires back to the tach. Once the tach reaches its lowest rpms setting it will stop the feed rollers. When it regains its rpms they will start feeding again.)
I think if you get a wiring diagram from Vermeer that it will help you. Your biggest issue will be what's reading the rpm's on either engine.
Hope this helps!
Dave
