I am having a problem with the Auto feed. Sometimes it works sometimes it dont.
If you shut the feed switch off the feed wheels work. Seems to be an intermeitent problem.
It seems to be worse when it's first thing in the morning.

Anyone have similar troubles before???

Try adjsuting the mag pickup on the flywheel, and/or make sure the end of it
is free of metal pieces, if out af adjustment or covered in metal can cause
the aotofeed to work intermittently.

Please check the magnet and cartridge for the auto-feed. They need to be lightly oiled from time to time as they can get corroded. If the mag pick up is reading the rpm's correctly, it shouldn't be contaminated. If the rpm's are all over the place or running extremely high the mag pick up could be bad. Not all machines have a mag pick up the rpm's can also be coming from the alternator.

Hope this helps!

jtreeman, hopefully you are still on here. Our 1800 is doing exact thing. Have checked speed sensor and it is registering frequency fine. Have removed and cleaned it also. Have had machine back to Vermeer but it starts working again before they can find problem. Like you said intermittant. Hate to pay for control board unless sure. What did you find with yours. Thanks jhnmcd

Picks up frequency from flywheel and no engine tach. Control panel was built by precision governor and called and talked to them. When we told them that as soon as we unplugged 4 wire connector going to control that feed rolls would kick in they said panel was more than likely bad. Purchased 1 from them (about $200 less than Vermeer) and waiting for it to arrive. Hopefully fixes problem
