Vermeer BC1800XL winch set up

Can someone please post some detailed pics of the optional winch set up on a Vermeer BC 1800 xl chipper. Mine does not have one and I would like to build one for it. I just want to get an idea of how it is set up from the factory and if there is anything that you would change about it to make it better. Thanks

Way to much work and to many parts to do it right. sell yours and get one with a winch

I am not so sure that that is the best approach either is there any changes that anyone would make to the way the factory did it and the fabrication part of it can not be that hard. I already hae a winch and the rest is just steel and a fairlead for the cable.

Your right it's just a winch and some steel. But if you look at what all the "right parts" are going to cost and the time it is going to take to do it right it is going to be big $$$$$$$$$. Yes you could take any winch and some stuff you have laying around and build something that would work. But if any thing ever happened like someone getting hurt you will be in deep do do
and OSHA will hang you and your ins. co. will not cover you as you have made unauthorized modifications to the equipment.

This chipper is mine i am not a professional tree service or anything like that. The only person who uses this is me I got the chipper for a good deal and just use it to take care of my own property. I realize that to do it the same way that the factory did it would be big money but I am just looking for something to get some bigger logs closer to the chipper when I am working instead of hand dragging everything to it. There has been several times that I have had to cut logs up to get them to the chipper, when if i could have drug them closer with a winch I would not have had to cut them at all.
