Vermeer chippers

Has anyone had a problem with the safety bar located under the feed plate of Vermeer chippers? I have an older Vermeer chipper and am looking to upgrade. I heard that the bar is constantly being engaged by brush being fed into the chipper. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has experienced this problem first hand or knows someone who has. Thanks

It does happen, sometimes often. Can be annoying. Depends on the brush, some stuff it is worse than others. Older chippers don't have the bar. Vermeer 1800 doesn't have it the BC1800XL does. Good Luck.
